Welcome to the BEST pristine and undeveloped beach on Maui for year-round swimming and walking! This particular version of “Baby Beach” (one of 3 on the northshore) is located in Sprecks, an upscale residential neighborhood just a 2-minutes’ drive from Paia Town.
This beach and its protected swimming area is a natural beautiful aqua blue swimming pool and a big sand box all in one place. Best time to visit is in the mornings, before the tradewinds pick up which are usually during mid-March to mid-November. Kids and adults of all ages love what this beach has to offer. Swimming or jogging for fun or exercise, snorkeling, playing with beach toys and inflatable toys, building sand castles, or just relaxing and soaking up the sun with the cool Maui breeze on your skin. Exploring the small tides pools near the parking area is fun too! This is an ideal beach for taking young children to for a fun and safe swimming environment. Baby Beach is at the very end (west end) of mile-long Baldwin Beach and is considered by many locals and visitors alike to be the best part of Baldwin Beach.

Some advice to maximize your experience at Baby Beach:
- The best time to be at this beach is early to mid-morning, before the tradewinds strengthen. Tradewinds are usually consistently breezy from mid-March thru mid-November, though not until around noon.
- Apply sunscreen generously before you leave the house since you'll probably want to stay at this beach longer than you expect and this gives the sunscreen time to absorb and less likely to be washed off so quickly.
- Pack drinks and snacks for everyone.
- A beach umbrella is a good idea if you're going with a baby, for shade, though only good on non-windy days, otherwise it will blow away, even in a light breeze.
- Bring beach chairs for adults and beach toys for the kids. Little kids also love to just float around with boggie boards, so bring those too.
- Of course, like at any beach in Hawaii, you'll want to keep a watchful eye on your non-swimming kiddos, since the shallow area gets deeper the further you walk from the beach (no lifeguards here).
- Bring a large bottle of "shower-water" and leave it in your car. You'll want to rinse of your feet and/or body when you get back to your car. There are no showers here and the parking area is in a red-dirt public parking lot. So, best to wash that red-dirt off before continuing to the rest of your day (it can stain your clothes).
- If you want warm "shower-water" just leave it outside your car in the sun while you're at the beach.
- No bathroom facilities here, so just make it a 1-2 hour beach visit.
- There are no public restrooms at this beach, though there are restrooms and showers at the other end of Baldwin Beach, fyi.
- If you want to stay in a vacation rental that is walking distance to Baby Beach here are some fantastic accommodation options: Baby Beach Home, Sugar Cove
- And more great properties just a short drive away in or near Paia Town: Nellie's Palm Cottage, Nellie's Milo Cottage, Hale Ho'okipa Mauka Cottage, Hale Ho'okipa Makai Cottage
